Thanks, Rick Jacoby! Good to hear that our baits continue doing awesome out in Sunnyside, NV! Went up to Sunnyside this past weekend with my fishing buddy, Ross. The fish were so friendly that we burned through our stash of Hookup bait lures (Pink Silver, Black Gold, and Orange Gold) and had to come home early! Needless to say we will be ordering some more. Especially since Lake Mead just reopened for fishing. Buy 1/16 oz HUB jigs here:

For the month of April, we ran a month-long contest that was points driven. We made several ways to earn points, and because of the shelter in place statewide order, some of the challenges include things to do at home. One of the challenges was flip or pitch casting into a bucket or tub using a Hookup Bait from various distances. The response was unanimous, all the Groms who went after the challenge reported now having way better casting skills, and it gave them something to do while stuck at home, especially when one of the distances was 100 feet! It was fun seeing the youngsters really go for it knowing the winner would not be random and they had to earn points, Great Job Groms! Winners will be announced in May. After the shelter in place is lifted and are planning on scheduling some youth fishing clinics, GROM Ambassador trips, and much more!! Grom Sponsors
Originally posted on 2/26/2020. Updated on 4/28/2020 A White Sea Bass (WSB) in California is on many angler’s bucket lists as it a favorite for its table fare and a challenge to catch. Over the past 3 years, a big majority of WSB were caught on California's coast on a Hookup Bait (HUB). From Ventura's Channel Islands, Santa Monica Bay, Catalina, Kelp lines from Newport to Oceanside, San Diego, Coronado Islands, and Ensenada. This data comes from social media, fishing reports, the many success stories we love and receive at Hookup Baits and from our own personal experiences from the HUB Crew. We would like to share this information to help anglers in trying to catch one of these elusive ghosts that we are blessed to have living on our coast. Where to Look? Let’s start with the Channel Islands and work our way down to Ensenada. Each area’s technique differs a little. But the main thing they all have in common is keeping the bait in the zone. WSB are usually suspended so keeping the bait in the middle water column is important. A lot of the WSB are caught while fishing calico and sand bass while the bait is sinking or being retrieved through the zone. If you are going just for WSB you’re going to want to make a long cast, let the bait sink halfway down then do a slow lazy retrieve with a pause every 5 to 10 cranks. Slow trolling also works. These are some great catches, Ava! We had a great trip this weekend fishing Long Beach harbor. My daughter Ava had an amazing time and caught 15 fish using the 3/8oz sardine pattern on her My Little Pony rod with 10lb fluorocarbon. She caught a combination of sand bass, spotted bay bass and calico bass. She asked me to take her next weekend too 😊. Thanks for sharing this experience with us, Ron Matro. It's awesome that she loves to fish with her Dad!! Buy Sardine Green HUB here:

Thanks for the awesome photos, Pierce Muir from Boise, Idaho! Fishing in Hagerman, they caught a majority of the fish on the brown and gold. They also caught about fifteen (15) on the black and gold! Altogether, over 70 trout were caught! I help the community of fishing by volunteering for the fish and game and picking up trash when I get out there to go fishing. I am one of the best track runners in Boise in the eighth grade, I was fifth in the nation for a relay! I used to hate going fishing because I would never catch anything no matter what I used, but when I used your baits it, felt as if I could actually catch fish! I just want more people to feel the way I did when I used your lures! - Pierce Miur Shop these Products
