Congrats to Brandon, for being the May's Grom of the Month! We're excited to take Brandon out on his first adventure with Hookup Baits! Let's go fishin'!! Now the Groms that were not chosen, your name stays in the bucket and if you post again this month you will be added to the bucket again. This means you will now have your name in the bucket 2 times and so on every month you don't get picked. We were so stoked to see so many more Groms in the bucket for this month. We love seeing all boys and girls out there fishing. Keep it up and good luck to all the Groms for the next month!!! Grom Sponsors

Took out Grom of the Month for April Tanner, his buddy Jackson and his pop on Friday. Let me tell you how refreshing it was to fish with 2 very respectful and polite boys for the day. I haven't been called sir that much in a long time. On top of that these boys were slayers. Tanner kept count of the fish caught with a clicker and the count was 175 at the end of the day. Way to go boys!! Way to make it happen on a day with bad conditions. Always awesome to see the stoke from the Groms on the fishing! Side Note: I got a 33lb halibut as a bonus!! Karma at its best. Lol. Thank you Fishworks Clothing, Angler Clothing Company, and Fishgroms for the swag. Check out the original post on Facebook or share from our Facebook page! Grom Sponsors
THE NEW HOOKUP BAITS BULLET! LONG CASTING, STRAIGHT RUNNING BAIT FOR FISH THAT LIKE TO CHASE! Last spring while fishing for Yellowtail we had a bite where anything larger than our 4” baits would not get touched. This also happens often with Tuna when they are keyed in on small baits. So for this situation a heavier bait for further cast, faster sink, and a stronger hook to handle big Tuna and Yellowtail needed to be designed. This bait also needed to swim straight with a fast retrieve and a small profile. With all of this in mind, we took these ideas back to the shop and designed what we now call the HUB Bullet! Casting or Trolling 1.0 and 1.5 oz Sizes 3x Strong Owner Hooks The Hookup Baits team put these baits to the test all last summer and they proved to be very effective on everything, especially on fish that chase such as pelagic fish. We had our best summer of Yellowtail fishing ever with limits just about every trip and 3 Yellowtail over 30 lbs - all caught on the HUB Bullet. Last spring we also experienced the White Sea Bass bite. The Sea Bass were keyed on Red Crab and the HUB Red Crab 5/8 was supreme. The only problem was catching big White Sea Bass on the smaller baits with smaller hooks. Now with the new HUB Bullet, that problem is solved! Same size bait, but stronger Owner Hooks. 1 oz (3/0, 3 X [...]
This is yet another school project where Hookup Baits out fished live and dead bait. It's pretty obvious that Hookup baits are the way to go, even science thinks so!
Busy weekend! Friday night = SD Anglers Award Banquet. Congrats to Luke on Jr. Angler of the Year, Lori for Women's Angler of the Year and I got the Mens Angler of the Year! All 3 are HUB users and supporters. Saturday = Anglers Clothing spotty series tournament #3 @ Mission Bay. Took 4th place. Saturday night = Nice Guys charity dinner/auction. Sunday = Coronado Islands. Stayed away from the fleet because I hate fishing in the fleets. We got 1 yellowtail on the second cast and a few big bones. The the wind came up early, so we headed for shelter and picked at the bass and rockfish. Congrats to Frank on the nice halibut. All 4 of us only threw the new HUB Bullets the whole day.
