Congrats to Ethan Froelich for being the November's Grom of the Month! We're excited to take Ethan out on his first adventure with Hookup Baits! Let's go fishin'!! Now the Groms that were not chosen, your name stays in the bucket and if you post again this month you will be added to the bucket again. This means you will now have your name in the bucket 2 times and so on every month you don't get picked. We were so stoked to see so many more Groms in the bucket for this month. We love seeing all boys and girls out there fishing. Keep it up and good luck to all the Groms for the next month!!!

October Grom of the Month trip was completed yesterday with Grom, Cash and his dad, Tom. We had decent fishing. Started with bass, then bonita, and finished with rockfish and sheephead. We hooked a nice tuna while rockfishing and lost it at gaff. All caught on the HUB'S, of course! We used the 1" and 1.5" Mint and Sardine Green most of the day. It's amazing how versatile a bait can be. They both had their best day of fishing ever and it was my pleasure to give it to them. Thanks guys. 👊👍 Thank you Fishworks Clothing & DInk SKwad for the swag for the Groms. Check out the original post on Facebook or share from our Facebook page!
Queen Charlotte Safaris highlighted Jojo and I fishin' with Sergio from Angler Chronicles and his wife, Rhonda, as we fished together on this adventure! This was Rhonda's first time fishing and she's hooked! 🙌 This is definitely the ideal couples trip if you ask us. https://youtu.be/tyN80JvC790
The day started at 4:00am at Dana Landing with the HUB team setting up for the tournament. A few boats were already lined up ready for tournament. Registration went smoothly, Captain/Anglers bags were given out, and fresh donuts and coffee for all. The tournament started at Safe Light and at 6:15am Anglers could begin to log in their catches. We used the iAngler app which allows an Angler to catch, measure, photograph and release their fish. It was important to Hookup Baits and CCA CAL that all bass were released. The results started flowing in as we all watched the leader board in each division. 11am the Casting Contest began. This was for our Groms (17 and younger) to see how well they could cast and for accuracy. We had (12) participants. In the Division 12 and younger, Tanner took 1st place with a total distance of 84.7 and 10 points for accuracy. Paul Vasguez from the Grom 13-17 Division took 1st place with a distance of 102 and 5 points for accuracy. Afterwards even adults and HUB team members tried their hand at this contest which was a lot of fun. Lunch was provided by Tarantino Sausage, so as Anglers came off the water they had a delicious meal to enjoy. This was also a great time to sit with our participants and volunteers to exchange fishing stories and have lots of laughs. The raffle was set up between 11-2 and what amazing prizes we had. Raffle prizes [...]
Congrats to Cash Troop for being the October's Grom of the Month! As you can see, his passion for fishing is what makes everything we do worth it! There's nothing better than getting notes from parents and grandparents, also excited for Cash! Priceless! "It’s company’s like Hook Up Baits that understand that the youth is the future of our country and provide the opportunities to set goals and work hard at something." - Tom Troop, Cash's Father "I have to share with you the pride and gratitude we are feeling right now. We are the Grandparents of Cash Troop who won the Grom of the Month, and came in third in this Tournament. To see his excitement and sense of accomplishment is priceless. Nothing compares to the feeling of seeing your grandchild so overjoyed and hugging complete strangers in public with no reservation! Thank you again for having a wonderful organization that truly is a positive example for our youth, and likely farther reaching than you may have imagined. Hookup Baits has definitely made the top of the list for our Annual Contributions." - Dan & Gloria Milich, Cash's Grandparents Check out the video to see just how much Cash loves fishin'! #hookupbaits #gromofthemonth #GOTM Now the Groms that were not chosen, your name stays in the bucket and if you post again this month you will be added to the bucket again. A message from Debbie Patenaude, Wow Chairman: I believe this was our very best WOW trip yet! After deliberating with Captain Taro, weighing the pros and cons, we chose to go to the Coronado Island in preference to offshore tuna fishing, hoping to make sure everyone got fish. So, early, 4:15 am, on Wednesday, September 26th, our SDA volunteers, Alisa, Bobby, Norm, Mike Kezele, Rudy, Dwayne, Debbie, Steve Carson all set with multiple Bonito rigs, and Chad, with plenty of Hookup Baits to go around, the others bearing rods to share showed up at Fisherman's Landing ready to welcome our warriors. We thought we would be there before our WOW anglers but we underestimated how excited they were! Many showed up very early! About 5:30 am, after all the paperwork was completed, Taro headed us toward the Islands. Calm seas and no one got sick. It seemed that in no time we had a quadruple hook up on Bonito, which happened nearly every time we moved the boat. The guys really had to work at getting the fish in with a moving boat! This gave them a chance to show off their muscles, amid cheers and laughter. We caught 27 different species (thank you Steve for tracking this for us), and everyone got several fish. We caught everything from Tree Fish to Tuna. One of the guys even got the nickname of the Yellowtail Whisperer after catching one Yellowtail and hooking 2 others. We headed in, tired, happy, and full from [...]
