Crazy day of bass fishing out at the Coronado Islands yesterday with my good buddies Tim and Wayne. Bass fishing was good, but the kicker was the massive Sheephead I landed on a 5/8 Red Crab HUB fished on 25 lb fluoro to 30 lb braid fished on a Shimano Saragosa 5000 and Fishing Syndicate rod 15 to 30 lb rated. This is my typical light bass setup. The Sheephead weighed in at 24 lbs on the certified scale at Dana Landing. What a busy weekend with no sleep. First off, it was the SBS Night Time Bass Tournament out of Long Beach. The tournament went from 4:00pm-4:00am. Never targeted bass at night and this was a first for both my teammate and I. We struggled because of it and not being able to do any pre-fishing didn't help. Either way, we got a couple nice ones that landed us in 12th out of 24 teams. Still in 5th over all for the series. Congrats to our rookie team of Frank and Rich for their 4th place finish in the rookie division! Also, a huge Thank You to Ryan of Slay Day Boat Rentals for the boat. Great outfit. Then it was straight to Day At The Docks. We had a successful day there. Got to see our industry friends and talk to a bunch of happy HUB users. Thanks to all that stopped by. I also want to thank my awesome team of Jojo, Frank, Paul, Tim, Tara, Michael and the Groms Paul, Stu, Wyatt, Dillon, and Brendan. You all did a fantastic job! I slept well last night. In all, I was awake for 28 hours straight!
