Thursday, went fishing with my bud's Tim and Ben. We Fished SD Bay to prefish for the upcoming tournament. After a handful of bass and a few short halibut the weather was to nice to not go check out the local structure spots along our coast. What a good choice that was. The bite was on for good size calicos and sand bass. After around 80 bass in a few hours the wind came up so we went back to the Bay for a few more bass and a 25 inch halibut. Friday, hit SD Bay again this time with my girl and team mate for Saturdays tournament Jojo. The wind was up and the tides were strong so fishing was tough. We fished only a few hours and ended up with a handful of bass and a 24 inch halibut. Saturday, we fished the Open Bay Bass Tournament. This is the biggest bay only tournament in SoCal. We targeted the sand bass and ended up with 10 legal size sand bass and 3 legal size spotted bay bass. You can only weigh in your top 3 bass which were all sand bass for us. The weight was 6.80 for our 3 fish which was good enough for 2nd place!. All our fish in the bay were on the 3/8 & 1/4 oz Hookup Baits jigs in all colors and outside the bay the 5/8 oz. In all colors. Pictures from the Report See More Pictures & Comment [...]
